Shut Tasks in One Step on Windows

So, you know how sometimes you need to shut down your computer system in a rush? And you’re madly pumping away at the shutdown icons, but it says there are tasks running so it needs time to shut down. And you keep pumping and wonder furiously, if there’s no other solution?

Well guess what, advice how has come right back with a brilliant one step fix that can take care of the whole shebang.

One little piece of kit that’s almost not there, that’s how light it is, and still serves you wickedly well.

The Close All Windows application from NTWind is a delightful little packer upper that helps your processor shut down other applications in order to shut down (too many shut down’s? Bully for you, read the news, India’s having mad union-management issues that have left one dead).

The best part about this gadget is that it is truly plug and play. You don’t even need to install NTWind, just unzip and save it to a destination and you’re on your way.

So once you’ve downloaded and installed the NTWind, you need to open the source folder which should look like this:

So now you need to the executable file (just copy the closeall.exe icon) to a root directory (somewhere easy to find) on your computer’s hard disk.

Now drag the executable file, the Closeall.exe icon, onto your task bar for easy access like this:

So now you have Closeall installed and ready to spring into action. But before it shuts down, it does have a fail safe or two to ensure you don’t lose your data.

Closeall will always ask if you would want your save your data within a program or document if you haven’t already made the necessary edits. And that, you have to admit, is a big plus!

If you haven’t saved your work in a program or document, the app will ask if you want to save your work, just like if you were to close out of it normally.

So do whatever needs to be done and save whatever you should be saving. The thing is, i said at the start of this was that it should be a quick way of shutting down. And it is. Seriously. You just need to be saving your work don’t you? And when you don’t you wish the computer auto saved it, so if it’s asking, help it out mate, help it out.

So get the NTWind and wind up quicker through quick windows shutdowns.
